Metropolitan playtime of Frivolite | モード系の春夏秋冬 流行ファッション

I`ve always loved the superfluously grandiose architecture of big cities. I will never tire of the skyline (how could you, when the one you're in changes every couple of months? There's something big going up near Shibuya now...). The Spiderman building above houses the Mode Gakuen fashion school. It's called the cocoon building but i mistakenly heard it pronounced as `corn` so to me it's The Cob. It's a fun building-- perfect for today's outfit. Time to have a little fun!


こういう頑張りスギような建築がすごく大都市っぽくて好き。東京のスカイラインに飽きることは絶対ない・・特にこの街は常にかわりつつあってね・・今渋谷らへんに大きな物建てられているしね。上のビルはモード学園が入っている「コクーン・ビル」。できる前「コーン・ビル」だと自分が聞き間違えて今もそうよんでる。
ちょっと遊びのある建築だよね。今日のプレイフルなコーディネートにぴったりと思って・・

今日は都庁に抗議運動にきました。「なんで『東京洒落ファッション省』はないの？！」と。





The structure of this skirt is amazing. Coccoon-y in the front and layered in the back. They expanded on the idea and made one in gold canvas weave for the next season. Tuly. Want.


このスカートの立体的なところはアメージング。前がバルーンになってるが、内ろはジオメトリックなレイヤー。フガハムが今度の春夏コレクションで同じ形だけど記事がゴールド織を出した。真に。はきたい。




But if anything else, these babies are the star today. TOGA western 3-buckle platform pumps in cobalt blue with black velvet heels. Like one of my assistants said "I would save for a year just to buy these shoes."
(they would sell out after before she could buy them. Fashion is messed up sometimes)


でも今日のスターはやっぱりこのトーガの　ウエスタン　３バックル　水色　ブラック・ヴェルヴェット・ヒール　のプラットフォーム　パンプス。
前にアシスタントが言ったような気持ちで：「手に入れるために一年も貯金するわ」（残念ながら一年貯金しても売り切れちゃうよ）




I took my copy of this month's Numero TOKYO with me out to read. PLUG TIME. And it's not just because I am English Copywriter for the mag, but also because I had two stories this month (Jan/Feb issue): an interview with the covergirl Caroline Trentini, and an interview with Stuart Vevers, the designer of Loewe. They were both extremely wonderful interview subjects. The former called me from her home country of Brazil to talk about the time a Steven Meisel shoot in a meat-packing factory turned her Vegetarian, and the latter was in Tokyo to tell me about how he worked the converyor belt at a sausage factory to pay for his graduate collection. Let's just say the interviews are meeeaty.


そして、今日は１・２月号のヌメロ・東京を持参して出かけた。
自己ＰＲタイム：
英字コピーライターを担当してるからはそうだけど、実はこの号には二つの記事を書きました。　表紙を飾っているモデルのキャロライン・トレンティニとロエベのデザイナーであるスチュアート・ヴィヴァーズのインタービュー２個。二人ともとても面白い話をしてくれました。キャロラインは母国からの電話インタービューでスティーブン・マイゼルと肉工場での撮影の影響でなんとベジタリアンになったと。スチュアートはファッションの卒業制作ショーの材料費のお金を貯めようと、ソーセージ工場でコンベヤー・ベルトのバイトをやったと。
厚いネタいっぱいのインタービューでした。　




"Nice cupcakes, lady"
This necklace... I made it about 5 years ago when I first came to Tokyo. I was inspired by a little thing I saw in an early oughts VOGUE about a necklace made with toys. I had to have one for myself so I picked up a bunch of trinkets Harajuku. I packed it away for 4 years and recently brought it out again.


このネックレスは５年前に自作、４年間放置。なぜか最近よく取り出してる。すごく前の米ヴォーグをみて、こういうような玩具ネックレスが載ってたので「自分のも作ってみよう」と。




And since I was in a playful mood, I grabbed my only little toy I own (not true, I do have a ceramic Badtz-Maru I have hiden away somewhere). I got this in 2002 when Misia (a singer, pronounced the same way as my name) was big and came out with this melon panda character ("melon pan" is a popular sweet bread) . I hated melon bread at the time but this little guy was too cute to pass up.

歌手のミーシャのキャラクター：メロン・パンダ。当時はメロンパン嫌いだったのに、この子はどうしてほしくて。部屋は服とか、アクセサリーとか、シューズとか生地とかでいっぱいなのでキャラクターグッズはあまり買わないけど、この子はいつも置いてる。
