Sao Paulo SPFW Diary 2 | サンパウロコレクションのダイアリー2

Sao Paulo has been holding a fashion week for over 20 years, so it is natural that not only are productions extremely high, but the rest of the global fashion scene is finally catching on and giving them a piece of their infinitely short attention (and what journalist/editor/buyer wouldn`t jump [or samba hop] at the chance to visit saucy Brazil? They would have to be stone-cold.).

So here is why I spied with my little eye fashion-wise at Sao Paulo Fashion Week. First, the production. Like I said: it's high! Just look at the sets for some of these shows!

サンパウロコレクションは20年間を渡って開催されている。だからショーのクオリティが高いというのはいうまでもない！国際的に注目され、メディアの方々がブラジルまで足を運ぶようになった（もちろん、ブラジルへ行けるチャンスを断る人はいないでしょ！？）。

だからこのダイアリーの後半はそのファッションに目を置き、紹介します！

さっき言ってた「ショーのクオリティが高い」だけれど、下載の写真で見るように、ランウェイのセットが本当に素敵！

Neeon. (which I confused with C.Neeon. Until I realized that one is European and more "höt" than "hot".)

But check out the trunk on that girl! And the toucan on the other! And I`m not being sexist. The toucan dress revs me up- beautiful.

「Neeon」のショーですが、あの女性の牙を見て！そしてあの子のくちばし！なんだかいやらしく聞こえる・・笑　だけれど、本当にこのオオハシ鳥ドレスが素晴らしい。ブラヴォ！





Osklen! Riding the dunes. Of the movie Dune. Post-apocalyptic Brazilian breach dwellers grow and weave their own fabric.

Which, all joking aside, was one of my favorite collections by Osklen ever. There were square shoulders, boxy skirts and lots of undulating silhouettes. Completely unwearable, yes- but undeniably beautiful. If it were not for the innovations in textiles made to create the soft yet strong stifness to uphold these 3D shapes, then these desgins would not be possible. I would wear one in a 21st-century-heartbeat.

この「オスクレン」のFW２０１０年コレクションは今までのコレクションの中良かったと思う。四角い肩のラインに、キューブに見えるスカートに、うねるシルエットなどが、現実上いくら着辛くても非常に斬新で感激した。やはり近年のテキスタイルのテクノロジーのおかげでできた作品だと思う。自分は近未来にでも、今すぐでも着ちゃうわ。




Alexandre Herchcovitch, undoubtedly the biggest show of the week. I went backstage afterward to get an interview and bumped into Caroline Trentini. I had just done a phone interview with her for Numero Tokyo and the Brazilian native had called me from her hometown then. I highly doubted she remembered me, but when I introduced myself she gave me a hug and exclaimed "It's so nice to meet you!" I sometimes forget that even though they look like seasoned women, the models are really just young teenagers inside.

アレキサンドレ・ヘルコビッチのショーが最も注目されていた。ショーが終わった後にバックステージにインタービューをゲットしようとしたら、スーパーモデルのキャロライン・トレンティーニ（Caroline Trentini)にばったり会った。自分はヌメロ東京の依頼で電話でインタービューを、当時の最近にやったが、電話だったし、ほんの一時間だけだったからてっきり私のこと覚えていないだろうと思った。でも、自分のことを紹介してみたら「わい！実際会えてよかった！と飛んできてハグしてくれた。いつも忘れてしまうけど、モデルっていくら大人に見えても実は心がティーンエイジャーだってこと。笑



Speaking of supermodels, this is Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio. She worked this `magnum` face allllll the way down the catwalk.

スーパーモデルと言えばこの人、ビクトリアズ・シークレットで有名なアレッサンドラ・アンブロシオ。この強気の顔はランウェイに登場した瞬間からカメラの真前までキープした。ワオー・・。




Second from the left is red-head beauty Cintia Dicker, and the guy giving the cameras his love in front is none other than Madonna's boytoy Jesus Luz. Oh man, when he stomped down the catwalk it was so quiet in the audience that I almost didn`t believe it was him (is it embarrassing to say me and a compatriot were google imaging him during the show to confirm? I think not). "Brazilians don`t get excited about people just because they hang out with someone else who is famous," a local friend told me. Sounds like a good philosophy to me!

そして、この赤毛の可愛い子があの有名なシンティア・ディッカー。　そして右側のあの俳優的な姿勢をとっている男の人が、そう・・マドンナのボーイフレンドのジェズス・ルス(Jesus Luz)。彼がショーに登場した時、顧客があまりにも「しーん」としていたから、「まさか彼な訳じゃないよね？！」と思ったが、ショー中に顔写真をググってみたら、やっぱり彼だった。「だから、有名な人と付き合うだけで有名になれると思わないよ、ブラジル人は」と現地の友達が教えてくれた。ちょっと、賛成かも？！




Lara Stone. This is right when she was the hottest thing since sliced bread for being the "fattest" model, but not actually wanting to be the "fattest" model. Honey, take a breather.

今すごくホットなモデル、ラ―ラ・ストーン。「私は太いわ」という発言で売れっ子になった。今 Vuitton　のキャンペーンも飾っているしね。ちょっとよく考えてくれよ、ラーラ。



Backstage mayhem.

バックステージはカオス。




Vanessa, who is a top makeup stylist for M.A.C. in Brazil. This woman could rock a makeup brush in one hand and mix a Caipirinha in the other at the same time. Seriously, if anyone is heading to Sao Paulo for a photoshoot, you need to look her up.

MACブラジルのトップスタイリストの一人、 Vanessa Rozen。　この人は本当に腕がうまい。だから、サンパウロでフォトシューティングに行く方がいれば、絶対彼女に声をかけることをお勧めするわ。




The only "street" snap I took. I just loved this look. Casual dungaree blouse thrown over an ostrich-feather skirt? Genius! Even better is when I asked her what brand her outfit was: "Topshop".

おしゃれスナップはこの人で始まり、そしてこの人で終わった。このルックは本当に面白いと思ったので。アメリカンブラウスの下にダチョウ羽のスカートって斬新！しかも「ブランドは？」と聞いたら、「トップショップ」だと。リアルだな。





Party at Melissa booth! Champagne and wild stallions and their clown masters to smile and bestow upon us...stickers? Or something.

そして、メリッサのパーティへ！シャンパンに雄馬にピエロ・・しかも何か配ろうとしていた。シール・・か？？



I leave you with Isabela Capeto. She's like the chic fashion nana we all wish we had. Fin.
